We will handle the enquiry expeditiously upon receipt of a fully completed mail tracing form. Given that mail items will go through different processes after departure from Hong Kong, in order to trace a mail item, we must rely on different operators, such as freight agents, transit or destination postal administrations, etc. to provide relevant processing data or investigation results. The Universal Postal Union regulations stipulate that a maximum period of 2 months are given to the postal administrations for furnishing a reply upon the receipt of an enquiry from the origin country. We will inform the enquirers of the results after receiving their reply. Nevertheless, we will urge the operators concerned to give us an early reply and proceed with the compensation procedure if the mail item is considered to be lost.
