With effect from 5 November 2012, Hongkong Post will modify the service offerings and conditions of Local CourierPost. There will be four key changes as follows:
A new counter collection service will be introduced, allowing customers to pick up Local CourierPost items from any of our 126 post offices without waiting for delivery. This offering particularly caters for those recipients who do not wish to disclose their addresses, as well as those who prefer to collect their mail items at the time and the post office of their choice.
Local CourierPost service areas will be re-categorized into 'major commercial/industrial' areas and 'other' service areas, to better reflect the service requirements of commercial/industrial customers. Items for major commercial/industrial areas will be delivered by 1:00 pm on the next working day. Items for other service areas will be delivered before close of business on the next working day.
The current Premium Service (offering delivery within 2.5 hours) will be withdrawn due to low usage. Customised consignment packages will continue to be available to customers with special service needs and some of the current customers who are using this service have already changed to our customised service.
In case of unsuccessful door delivery, the recipient will receive a notification card, indicating the designated post office where the undelivered item can be collected from the following working day onwards. The current arrangement which requires the recipient to call Hongkong Post's hotline to arrange mail collection will be dispensed with.
