Royal Mail – Delivery to a Neighbour Plan

2012.12.12

Please be advised that the Postal Administration of Great Britain has introduced the "Delivery to a Neighbour" plan. Under this plan, when there is no one home at the delivery address when the delivery postman arrives, air parcel, surface parcel, Speedpost and item that cannot fit through the letter box of the addressee, will be left with a neighbour wherever possible. A card will be slipped through the door of the addressee as to inform the addressee where he or she can pick up the item.

The addressee can opt not to participate in this plan by register online or call the Royal Mail. However, the opt out arrangement does not include air parcel, surface parcel and Speedpost.
