In view of the recent concerns about the fraudulent emails purporting to be issued by Hongkong Post, Hongkong Post has implemented the Sender Policy Framework (SPF) on 6 Jun 2017 for all emails with domain @hongkongpost.hk. Sender Policy Framework (SPF) is a email-validation system designed to detect email spoofing and allow recipient to check the SPF records of incoming mail comes from a email server authorized by the claimed domain. Members of the public is capable to identify whether the emails were really issued from Hongkong Post.
Following are examples with email client or web mail to identify the authenticity of email from Hongkong Post :-
GMail: Open the email, choose [More] > [Show Original], there should be “Received-SPF: Pass” in the mail header.
Yahoo Mail: Open the email, choose [More] > [View Raw Message] from the tool bar, there should be “Received-SPF: Pass” in the mail header.
Microsoft Outlook: Open the email, choose [File] > [Properties] from pull down manual, there should be a “Pass” marked in the “Received_SPF” field in the “Internet headers” section.
Lotus Notes: Open the email, right click the mail content and choose “Document Property”, there should be a “Pass” marked in the “Received_SPF” field in the design section.
