Hongkong Post announced today (February 21) that an International Mail Centre (IMC) official souvenir cover and a pop-up card will be released for sale from tomorrow (February 22) to commemorate the closure of the IMC on March 8 this year.
Located in Hung Hom, Kowloon, the IMC came into operation in June 1980 and has been providing mail processing services for the local community for more than three decades. To make way for the Shatin-Central Link, the IMC will be closed after business on March 8 and services will be relocated to the Central Mail Centre at Wang Chin Street, Kowloon Bay. Hongkong Post will issue an official souvenir cover and a pop-up card to commemorate the decommissioning of the facility.
Official souvenir covers will be on sale at $2 each at all philatelic offices and the IMC Post Office from tomorrow. Serviced official souvenir covers at $6.20 each will be available for sale at all philatelic offices and the IMC Post Office on March 8.
The pop-up card will be on sale at $48 each at Hongkong Post's ShopThruPost (www.shopthrupost.hk) and all PostShop outlets from tomorrow.
Information about the official souvenir cover and the pop-up card is available on Hongkong Post's website (www.hongkongpost.hk) and the Hongkong Post Mobile App.
