Hongkong Post announced today (April 11) that a set of special stamps on the theme "Our Police Force" and associated philatelic products will be released for sale on April 30 (Tuesday).
Since its inception in 1844, the Hong Kong Police Force has taken on the mantle of maintaining law and order in society and safeguarding and protecting the lives and property of Hong Kong people. Sparing no effort in achieving its vision that "Hong Kong remains one of the safest and most stable societies in the world", the Force keeps up with the times and strives for continuous improvement in every aspect of its activities. With its relentless efforts, crime rates in the territory continue to drop and this makes Hong Kong a better place in which to live and do business. To help the public understand more about this outstanding disciplined service, Hongkong Post will issue a set of six special stamps and a stamp sheetlet to showcase the dynamics of police work.
$2 – Boundary Security
$2.60 – Crime Investigation and Detection
$3.40 – Cultural Diversity and Equal Opportunity
$3.70 – Police Training
$4.90 – International Collaboration

Along with preparing the "Our Police Force" special stamps, Hongkong Post has created a number of mini-games that run on mobile phones. By scanning the six specially designed stamps with the "HKPostStamps" mobile app, customers will be able to learn more about the work of the Police through the mini-games behind each stamp. These games can also help to raise awareness of customers against crimes, e.g. cyber fraud.
The updated version of the mobile app "HKPostStamps" can be downloaded from the App Store (for iOS devices), the Play Store (for Android devices) and the Hongkong Post Stamps website (stamps.hongkongpost.hk/) from April 30 onwards. This mobile app also provides quick access to online shopping via ShopThruPost (shopthrupost.hongkongpost.hk), enabling people to purchase Hongkong Post's philatelic products anytime and anywhere.
Official First Day Covers will be on sale at $1.30 each from tomorrow (April 12) at all post offices and the special stamps and associated philatelic products will be displayed at the General Post Office, Tsim Sha Tsui Post Office, Tsuen Wan Post Office, Sha Tin Central Post Office and Tuen Mun Central Post Office.
