With effect from 1 January 2020, postal franking machine dealers will no longer collect postage prepayment from the licensees of postal franking machines. All postage prepayment for postal franking machine must be made to Hongkong Post directly. Upon receipt of the prepayment, Hongkong Post will notify the dealers to credit the value to the customers’ accounts.
Under this new arrangement, Hongkong Post would be able to access the amount of prepayment made by customers of postal franking machines directly, eliminating the procedure for dealers to notify Hongkong Post after postage collection in the past and enhancing the operational efficiency in verifying the prepaid amount.
