Payment methods and their processing time

Processing time required by Hongkong Post

In person

By presenting the payment barcode or providing the licence number, customers can make payment in person by cash, Electronic Payment Services (EPS), cheque or cashier order at any post office.

By cash / EPS

Payment before 3:00 pm: Customers can reset value to their postal franking machines before 11:00 am on the following working day.

Payment after 3:00 pm: Customers can reset value to their postal franking machines before 11:00 am on the second working day after the payment.

By cheque / cashier order

Depending on the time required for bank clearance, customers can reset value to their postal franking machines in no more than five working days in general.

By post

Customers can send a crossed cheque payable to “Postmaster General” to Revenue Accounts Section, Financial Services Division, 5/F, Hongkong Post Building, 8 Wang Kee Street, Kowloon Bay, Kowloon, Hong Kong. Please write the name of the licensee and the licence number on the back of the cheque.

Depending on the time required for bank clearance, customers can reset value to their postal franking machines in no more than six working days in general from the date of impression.

By electronic payment

Please select <3> Other bills under category and enter the 11-digit electronic payment code sent to customers earlier on.
