"Vintage Posting Box Set (Limited Edition)" showcases nine vintage posting boxes which were restored in mid-October 2013. These historic post boxes are either the oldest or the most unique among those that remained in the territory. Eight of them were built during the reign of George V (1910-1936) and George VI (1936-1952), while the later one (also the only remaining oval posting box still servicing Hong Kong) was built during the reign of Elizabeth II. All nine posting boxes have served the people of Hong Kong for decades and are important antiquities that have survived and witnessed the fascinating changes in Hong Kong throughout these years.
Hongkong Post has launched a new series of souvenirs collection incorporating popular local illustration character – Chocolate Rain – to convey the importance of conservation of postal heritage. The collection, namely “Vintage Posting Box Collection”, includes five stationery items featured with nine selective antiquity posting boxes.
