Assistant Manager (Special Stamps Issues, Promotion & Advertising)
(Around $350,000 per annum + gratuity)
Major responsibilities:
- To market and publicise special stamps and related products locally with a view to increasing philatelic revenue;
- To formulate customer service and marketing strategies for promoting Hong Kong stamps;
- To develop, implement and execute the promotion plans and calendars for social media platforms, as well as perform daily operations of these platforms;
- To provide copywriting for press releases as well as digital and online campaigns;
- To assist in organising (1) large-scale sales and publicity campaigns to expand the reach of stamps and philatelic products in the community and educational institutions; and (2) school seminars and inter-school competitions to promote philately to the youth in order to expand consumer base;
- To prepare publicity programmes derived from the overall marketing plan for the launching of the Advance Order Service (AOS) and all philatelic products each year, communicate with potential collaboration partners for promoting new issues of stamps, and organise loyalty programmes for AOS members;
- To liaise with contractors to produce marketing collateral/ advertisements of special stamp issues to arouse public attention and increase sales;
- To conduct market research and customer survey relating to stamps/ philately and collectible market;
- To maintain existing and explore new sales and marketing channels; and
- To monitor the website, prepare statistical data and reports, and handle external enquiries and complaints.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing or related disciplines from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent;
- A minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification full-time working experience in marketing and/or product development;
- Level 3 (Grade C before 2007) or above in both Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B before 2007) in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and proficient in computer skills;
- Highly versatile with sharp business acumen;
- Good organisational, planning and interpersonal skills; and
- Self-motivated and committed.
Terms of appointment:
- 2-year contract;
- Monthly salary $25,050;
- Discretionary performance pay up to about 1 month’s salary in every six months;
- 14 days’ annual leave; and
- Gratuity payable plus Hongkong Post’s MPF contributions equal to 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period.

- The new version of application form for Government jobs G.F. 340 (Rev.7/2023) has been in use with effect from 26 July 2023. Candidates should use the new G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023). If candidates submit the old version form G.F. 340 (Rev. 3/2013), they will be required to fill in the new G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023) afresh and submit it within seven days upon request. If candidates fail to submit the new G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023) within the stipulated deadline, their applications will not be processed further.
