SYSTEM ANALYST (SECURITY OPERATION)
(Around $810,000 per annum + gratuity)
Major responsibilities:
- To lead the Security Operation Team in monitoring, detecting, analysing and responding to cybersecurity incidents and threats;
- To support and maintain the normal operation of various cybersecurity tools and platforms, such as SIEM, EDR, NDR, IDS, IPS, SOAR, and ensure that they are properly configured and optimised for effective threat detection and response;
- To design, procure, install and deploy new cybersecurity solutions and services;
- To manage day-to-day cybersecurity alerts, control false positive rates and instance response to anomalies and potential threats, and serve as the primary contact point for high-severity cybersecurity incidents;
- To lead and orchestrate the entire cybersecurity incident response process, from detection and containment to eradication and recovery, in technical aspect;
- To participate in cybersecurity threat hunting activities and identify hidden threats potentially overlooked by automated tools;
- To facilitate knowledge transfer among team members to maintain the performance of the team;
- To prepare, review and update documentation, including procedures, manuals, standards, periodic reports and investigation reports;
- To handle enquiries and complaints; and
- To undertake any other tasks assigned by supervisors.
Requirements:
- A Hong Kong bachelor’s degree in Information Technology (IT) or Computer Studies, or equivalent;
- Level 2 (Grade E before 2007) or above in both Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B before 2007) in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent;
- A minimum of 5 years’ full-time post-qualification work experience in the IT field, of which a minimum of 3 years should be in cybersecurity related areas, with strong knowledge of network security, application security, cloud security, endpoint protection, etc.;
- Solid hands-on experience in the following areas: security risk management, security solutions, and attack/defense techniques on common IT technology, such as Linux/Windows, Active Directory, mobile technology, cloud computing, network/application firewalls, IDS/IPS, load balancers, SSL VPN, end-point protection suites, DLP, DDoS, APT, encryption technologies, ransomware and cybersecurity standards;
- Proficient in at least one of the following areas: (1) operating SIEM or cybersecurity tools, especially Splunk or Elastic SIEM; (2) providing first/second line support for security operation centres (SOCs) or cybersecurity teams; and (3) handling security incident response activities, such as investigation, containment, eradication and remediation;
- Preference will be given to holders of Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) / Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) / Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) / Certified Information Security Professional (CISP) / Certified SOC Analyst (CSA) / Practical SOC Analyst Associate (PSAA);
- Good interpersonal and persuasive skills in managing multiple stakeholders to adopt cybersecurity solutions effectively to meet operational targets;
- Good oral and written communication skills in both Chinese and English; and
- Diligent with great initiative and good analytical and problem solving abilities.
Terms of appointment:
- 2-year contract;
- Monthly salary $58,485;
- Discretionary performance pay up to about 1 month’s salary in every six months;
- 14 days’ annual leave; and
- Gratuity payable plus Hongkong Post’s MPF contributions equal to 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period.
