Hongkong Post is advertising for the following non-civil service contract managerial position:

ANALYST PROGRAMMER
(Around $540,000 per annum + gratuity)
Major responsibilities:
- To undertake programming duties for the development of web-based application;
- To undertake/assist in system development and maintenance activities, including analysis and design, system testing, user acceptance testing, data conversion, user training and production support of computer systems;
- To undertake/assist in the evaluation of information technology (IT) hardware, software and technologies;
- To undertake/assist in the procurement for the acquisition, installation and maintenance of computer hardware and software;
- To undertake/assist in the quality control of development and maintenance activities;
- To undertake ongoing IT security support tasks, such as software patching, log review, system alert handling, minor system enhancement, and follow-up actions required from various security risk assessment and audit, privacy impact assessment, and threat and vulnerability management;
- To provide IT training to end users;
- To prepare, examine and update documentation, including procedures and reports; and
- To undertake any other tasks assigned by supervisors.
Requirements:
- A Hong Kong bachelor’s degree in Information Technology (IT) or Computer Studies, or equivalent;
- Level 2 (Grade E before 2007) or above in both Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B before 2007) in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent;
- A minimum of 2 years’ full-time post-qualification work experience in the IT field, including 1 year’s working experience in Java programming in the recent 2 years;
- Solid work experience in both Java programming and web programming, and proficient in the relevant tools;
- Knowledge of iOS/Android mobile application programming, responsive web design, Oracle and HTML5 is preferred;
- Good oral and written communication skills in both Chinese and English and good interpersonal skills; and
- Diligent with great initiative and good analytical and problem solving abilities.
Terms of appointment:
- 2-year contract;
- Monthly salary $38,790;
- Discretionary performance pay up to about 1 month’s salary in every six months;
- 14 days’ annual leave; and
- Gratuity payable plus Hongkong Post’s MPF contributions equal to 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period.
